Ford Research and Innovation Center, Palo Alto CA
This 150,000-square-foot interior renovation encompasses two existing buildings within Ford Motor Company’s Research and Innovation Campus. The project represents a significant expansion of one of the world’s largest automotive research and development centers, transforming the existing facilities to support Ford’s evolving research, technology, and innovation initiatives.
The 160 researchers, engineers, and scientists who work within the facility are focused on exploring the future of mobility, creating new connections between automotive innovation and emerging digital technologies. The renovation was designed in accordance with Ford’s Global Workspace Neighborhood Standards and accommodates a diverse program of offices and specialized laboratories, along with a visitor lobby and auditorium. At the visitor lobby, security, circulation, and brand identity were carefully integrated through the strategic placement of the building entrance and reception desk, creating a welcoming and clearly defined point of arrival while maintaining the necessary level of access control.
The interior program was developed in accordance with Ford’s Global Workspace Neighborhood Standards and incorporates a diverse mix of office and laboratory spaces, along with a visitor lobby and auditorium.
