701 Colorado, Santa Monica CA
Sited at the corner of Colorado Avenue and 7th Street in Downtown Santa Monica, this project is among the many new transit-oriented developments emerging along the Los Angeles Metro Expo Line. Its location provides convenient access to regional transit while placing residents within walking distance of Downtown Santa Monica and the Pacific Ocean.
This project was conceived to maximize the value of its corner orientation and views toward the nearby Pacific Ocean. Common-area landscaped terraces and amenities at the upper levels allow all building residents to fully appreciate the project’s unique coastal context. Other distinguishing characteristics include a diverse mix of single-room occupancy (SRO), affordable, and market-rate units, including one, two, and three bedroom residences. Ground-floor corner retail further activates the streetscape, while the absence of on-site parking reflects the project’s transit-oriented location and encourages residents to rely on public transportation, walking, and bicycling for their daily commute. The project is currently approved by the Santa Monica Planning Department and is in schematic design.
